Waltz Books contributes to the dialog on contemporary art by providing creative and financial support for the production of ground-breaking photobooks. Waltz Books seeks projects that require a close relationship between the book format and the photographic image. Working in collaboration with a wide variety of artists, book designers, and printers, we provide an independent forum for innovative photobook projects.
Today’s photobook publishing environment is increasingly shaped by economic factors that make it difficult for many risk-taking yet important projects to reach the audience they deserve. Artists who choose to self-publish within this environment often lack the essential collaboration of an outside eye toward editing, sequencing, and overall design. Waltz Books matches artists and their photobook projects with the creative talent and money they need to achieve their vision.
Waltz Books was founded in 2012 by artist Mary Goodwin.
